Problems with Java - What is it and how do I rectify it?

I get the following message when I try to run Java "Several Java Virtual machines running in the same process caused an error"

I've uninstalled and reinstalled many times, but nothing works.

Can anyone tell me what I need to do, so I can use Java properly.

Java is software used to run alot of on-line stuff such as games.

Try a fresh install from here.

Java is normally reasonably stable it may be that whatever you are trying to do (you don't say what) is causing the problem.
Reply:someone with the same problem as you solved this as follows:

"What I have found to solve the problem

was to set my Java Runtime Parameter to -Xmx128m. I have over a gig of RAM

and this setting seemed to give me no recurring errors. I closed the Java

panel, IE7 and Restarted my computer. "

Java is programming language
Reply:u can just download Java from the java site.
