Why does the Java applet start running in my bar where the clock is when I just go to a website?

Any website that I go to, it does this.

Why does the Java applet start running in my bar where the clock is when I just go to a website?
Your browser is set up to load the java applet or the java quick launch. If you stop it, some pages may not work. It the settings you should be able to set it to load only when needed or at least turn off the icon in the system tray
Reply:Normally, when you go to any website that has java running (so basically you need java in order to make the webpage running properly in your PC), if you have java, it will run automatically. it's normal, don't turn it off.
Reply:Some web sites require a much more powerful version of Java than the basic version supplied with Windows. The applet will appear when a site is accessing JRE (Java Runtime Edition) or JVM (Java Virtual Machine.). This is normal. It means you have the most powerful version of Java installed on your computer, which is good.
